I am still unable to drive for Uber since the accident that happened on 03/25/2023. Today, I edited some video that will go up on YouTube
tomorrow or the next day. I still haven’t been able to ride the Peloton for a while now. I think I last was able to ride like a week ago or something. I have a used screen coming on 05/11/2023 I can’t wait. On top of being unable to drive for Uber, I can’t exercise for 2 more days! Tomorrow I will shoot an email to summer at the collision center and ask her what time is good to drop off the courtesy vehicle and pickup Ruby. Summer did the right thing by getting me that courtesy car, so I leave her alone. Tomorrow I will probably just shoot her a 1 liner.
I am still unable to drive for Uber since the accident that happened on 03/25/2023. It has been a while since I drove for Uber. I went
grocery shopping today, when we moved in here
groceries for me and my mother for 1 week would
cost 75-85 bux. Today groceries for us was like $116.00. What a difference and that is just for two people. More people in a family cost more money.
I am still unable to drive for Uber since the accident that happened on 03/25/2023. Today is Sunday, usually the last day of the week driving for Uber. I have a courtesy vehicle
from Maher that I try to drive as little as possible because it too is a gas guzzler.
It’s good to have something to drive when you need it, I am very grateful don’t misunderstand. But it gets like 24.4 MPG that is horrible. There are a lot of people that think that is actually good! Today I saw gas here in FL was $3.49 a gallon. That is actually very high for FL. I remember when I saw gas jump 1 day like .39 cents, I was like dang! That is a pretty big increase, then the next day it jumped up by even more than that. Uber
Started to charge a “temporary” fuel fee of .55 cents per trip, which is basically like nothing. I used that in conjunction with Get “upside” which is a good way to get some of that money back, so if you take those .55 cent scrap and then you add upside to that you may be able to save like .20 per gallon.
I am still unable to drive for Uber since and because of the accident
that happened on 03252023. Today was the last day for me to have a rental car from Progressive.
I took it back and picked up a 2020 Chevy Malibu. I like it better than the Mustang. It too is a gas guzzler
too. It said on the interstate, I was getting 24.4 MPG. I am very lucky to have it either way.
Oh yea, I forgot to say on here, that the Mustang only does car play over a hard wire, this Malibu
is pretty much the same way. The Malibu is completely hard top so it is much quieter though.
directly under where the radio is there is a female USB A port. With the Mustang I could see it
and with the Malibu, I actually have to look under there, With the Malibu you definitely have to be completely
stopped to use them. There is also an interface in the Mailibu for an aux device which on the Mustang there is not.
I am still unable to drive for Uber since
The accident on 03/2/2023. Tomorrow is the last day from the Rental car for me the plan is to drop off the Rental @Maher collision center
and pick up the courtesy loaner I will have until 05/11/2023. I found and purchased a new screen for my Bile plus it was $117.00 shipped that new ones on there for like $210.00 shipped. I don’t have new kind of money. So that will arrive sometime Monday and I will install (I have all ready watch a video on it) it’s two 4 MM screws, shouldn’t be too bad.
I am still not able to drive for Uber since the car accident on 03/25/2023. I got on the Peloton to ride it the other day and the screen (they call it the tablet) just kept prompting for an update so I would do it. It has done that before so I didn’t think anything of it, just ride for 20 minutes anyway and then get off. This time though it was not prompting me to log in it just kept looping after it would download and then install that update and reboot over and over again. So I chatted in to support and we did about 15 minutes of troubleshooting and then he told me, since I am out of warranty, it is going to run me $650.00 plus tax because I need a new screen. I was like no let’s try something else lol. So my Peloton is down and it is driving me crazy, I love to hate that thing. I got an email from Maher today that the wrong part was sent for my car, so Ruby won’t be ready until 05/11/2023, but the last I am working with at Maher said she reserved a courtesy vehicle for me to drive after this Friday. So that was cool of her, and Maher collision to do that. So on top of the precision work that they do there, there also good people and they help when they can. Usually they are really fast. I understand that sooner or later something happens that is out of our control. I am just fortunate that a car was reserved for me!
I just got off the phone with my P.I. lawyer.
He told me that I have no UM coverage on this case.
I do have UM coverage thru Progressive personally but it only covers
me while I am on my way to pick up a passenger. Once they get in my
car, there is no UM coverage. Meanwhile, I have been going through
treatment related to this accident, and since this accident,
I have also been unable to work because of my injuries and
the damage done to my car in this accident. If you look at the actual police report
it says on there that the person that hit me has no auto coverage.
She said at the scene that she did have insurance but her phone screen was broken
so no one could verify that she did have coverage. She did not get cited for anything.
They put her in the number 1 spot on their report so if she did not get in any trouble,
that is fine by me. It turns out that she does have coverage through The General Insurance.
The General Insurance only sells the absolute minimum coverage possible. So the only coverage
she has will pay for her Personal Injury Protection and my deductible. I have Uber driver insurance that
pays for my medical bills only (my saving grace) it does not provide any type
of pain and suffering payment, so my P.I. Attorney said he is closing my file lol.
The Uber Auto insurance now is also the absolute minimum that they require in Florida by law.
They do provide (Uber insurance) 5K for the driver’s medical expenses.
So because I don’t have the money for a $2500.00 deductible, I opted to get everything
done through my own personal policy that has a $1000.00 deductible. Because of that
I don’t have any PIP insurance either. The only insurance that I have personally here
is the Uber driver insurance and they subtract like 4 cents per mile that I drive
and it only covers me as the driver when I am online via the Uber platform.
If I did not have that coverage, I would only have the $5000.00 to pay for my medical bills. I was rear-ended by a passenger in the car in 2019 and Uber had $250,000.00 of UM coverage
and a $1000.00 deductible. Now they have this huge $2500.00 deductible and no UM coverage at all.
So if a driver gets in an accident, there is no coverage for the driver. The passengers are
covered for up to 1 million in expenses, the driver though is not covered at all.
