I just got home from picking up Ruby/my car from AutoMedic. The brake issue is resolved but something was reset by the tech there and the clock time is like 2 hours off, a full tank of gas usually says like 425-450 miles it said 515, and the head unit in Ruby has an error on it that says “insert map DVD” the only button on the radio that worx is the eject button, it opened the screen and then spit a disk out from a slot that I didn’t even know existed. That screen used to have something that told you what road you are driving on right then. It was very handy, you wouldn’t think so, but it was. When it stopped working I noticed right away. It said something about updating the navigation map for over 6 months. Everything except the navigation still worked. Music is EXTREMELY important in a Rideshare vehicle. With that error on the screen, NOTHING works, not even the backup camera, nothing. I watched a couple YouTube videos on it and I saw this one that had this dude, he showed his screen and it had the exact same message. He tried everything except replacing the complete head unit (which I sourced/priced at $300.00 for the used part plus my labor. He listed a lot of the trouble shooting he had already done (he was young like 25 or so. He did not let on anything at all. He said his absolute last troubleshooting step was to buy the DVD he said he got the newest possible revision and it was 2017 he put it in, and it worked, I saw it with my own eyes. The newest revision now is 2019 so I bought one from EBay unfortunately, Amazon didn’t have it. It will be in my hands 03/03/2023 – 03/05/2023. It cost $62.19 shipped if it would of changed the latest date getting to me, I would have paid it, but it didn’t. So I will drive for Uber Saturday 03/06/2023 probably.
