The point of rideshare driving for Uber or Lyft is to earn and hold on to as much money as possible.
These ride-share companies continue to ratchet (decrease) the pay to drivers while
Increasing the total cost to passengers. While keeping the difference for themselves.
These ride share companies think that drivers are going to be obsolete very soon anyway
and they continue to decrease the pay to drivers because of that reason. It is very convenient
to work for Uber. However the risk to drivers is very high. These ride share companies have no
insurance protection for drivers at all. Their deductibles are very expensive also.
I have been working full time for over 6 years for Uber and have been involved in 3 accidents
none of which were my fault. This last one was by far the worst. I was at a stop sign, with 2 Uber
passengers in the back and when there is an Uber passenger in your car, the Uber insurance policy takes over
and Uber has no Uninsured motorist coverage at all. My UM coverage was dennied and the Uber “driver only”
insurance is very bad. They outsource that insurance and that insurance company picks and chooses what they
are going to pay and they refused to pay for my Emergency room visit which left me with a 33K bill. The only
solution I know of is to have a commercial insurance policy..
