10/02/2024 548579 miles I changed the oil in this car today, myself. I watched several YouTube videos on it and got all the tools and supplies I needed, and I already had a lot of tools and I had a brand new 5 quart jug of oil. I got some blue washers from Amazon and the correct Toyota oil filter, and I completed it with success! I used the same oil that Valvoline Quick Oil change used to complete this job. I used my air pump to add air to the tires to specifications. I found the old crush washer in the old oil that I drained. I found this washer after I already changed the filter and refilled the oil. I used a shop vac in the oil fill hole in the engine and it suspended all the new oil in the engine while I unscrewed the oil drain plug, put on a brand new blue crush washer and screwed the drain plug in. Not 1 single drop of oil came out while I performed this fix. There was a metal washer on the oil drain plug already that wouldn’t come off so that is why I didn’t add another one. Also, when I thought I was finished, the car never leaked a single drop of oil.
04/23/2025 551225 miles. I will always change the oil in my car myself. I switched from Valvoline oil to Mobil 1 oil because I think it is a better oil. I never had a problem with Valvoline oil Mobil1 High Mileage Full Synthetic Motor Oil 0W-20, 5 Quart, Gray, and (Genuine Toyota 04152-YZZA6 Replaceable Oil Filter Element), I put air in the tires every month using a digital air pump that I purchased from Amazon in 2020 for 33 USD. I inflate the tires all the way around to 35 PSI, and those tires always look fine, and sometimes they are like 15 pounds low. It is well known that low tire pressure can decrease fuel economy by up to 10 percent.
