The nicest thing a rider has ever said to me:
I was at my perch on 5th Ave North and 5th Street in Down Town St. Petersburg, FL.
I think this was in 2021 not absolutely certain though.
I accepted a request to pick up a rider at Posche “Day Spa”
Now, I know from living in St. Petersburg, FL forever.
that Posche “Day Spa” is in the same building as Starbucks.
So I know that if you are in Starbucks but close to the wall
that is shared by Posche and Starbucks the Uber app will
send that request out as if you were really at Posche.
I had no idea where that trip was going. I just said “f” it.
If the rider still has a drink, I will just ride on and cancel.
So I went to Posche and this lady actually did come out of Posche day spa.
She was around 40 or so. So I picked her up, this trip was headed to the airport, “cool” I thought.
She was trying to burn up some time before her flight from Tampa International
left several hours from now. She was previously staying at the Vinoy Hotel.
She was on vacation or something from New Jersey. We started talking back and forth.
Now keep in mind we are complete strangers. I said something to her and she said to me-
“Well, you seem happy.” We just kept on talking back and forth. I did not realize what
transpired there. Another woman that I picked up recently (in 2023) said the same thing to me.
I knew this woman, and she knew me for like 30 seconds, and from that little bit of
time she heard me talk, and from what she could hear “I seemed happy” to her. I think about that all
the time now. I guess I am happy. I definitely could use more income, but that is a problem that can
be solved, as opposed to a person that has been given 6 months to live can’t be.

The best conversation I have ever had was a rider named Vicky that I picked up from the express side of Tampa International Airport.
Vicky was my last ride of the day, and I drove her to her residence which was in Bradenton, FL. I would say Vicky was around 70 years old or so.
On the way to her Residence, she told me all kinds of things. We talking about gas prices because they
were North of 4 Dollars which is a lot for Florida. She told me that when she was in college
her and her friends drove from some state out West like Iowa or something and they were low on gas
and they absolutely refused to pay .57 cents for a gallon of gas and they left that gas station
and went to another gas station and paid .54 cents per gallon of gas. That sounds like something I would do lol.
I can’t even imagine paying .57 cents per gallon of gas. Also, Vicky told me the price of postage
stamps was going up, I said “again” and she said they were going to .63 cents in a week or so. so I stocked up
on them. She also told me how much her unit was, that place is very nice, but I wouldn’t pay what she is paying to live there.
I could tell a couple things about Vicky. (1) I could sense from our current conversation that she was intelligent
and (2) She was also educated from both college and hard knocks. She also tipped me over $20.00 which also
was very cool of her.
