Today January 6th, 2023 a few things happened today. I completed my 10,000th trip. I captured a lot of it and will post it up here within a couple days. It was an Oil Change Friday today I just happened to be paying attention while my oil level on arrival was being checked and even though I change it every 2 weeks it was below 25 percent. What that means to me is that I need to add at least a quart of oil on non-oil change Fridays now. I completed 4 trips today and made a little over $125.00.

It’s 7:19 PM and I just walked in the door. day Today was a very slow for Uber Driving. The app says I completed 5 trips. Usually, the Uber app has me take a picture of myself once per week. Today it had me do it 3 times (I was using a separate device for the selfie camera.) I set an appointment to get my phone fixed next week on my day off. Because they couldn’t fix it last night and they said they could they are giving me a very good deal. The Uber application is a beast and it is a pretty good example of Artificial Intelligence and why humanity loves technology and invite’s it into their lives so much.

When I was at Walmart Monday my iPhone_7_plus fell out of the cart I was using
in the Parking lot. It fell face down and I didn’t notice that it fell
and then I stepped on it. I picked it up, looked at it real fast and it looked fine so
I was like “cool it didn’t break” later that day I saw that it was in fact damaged on the bottom near the fingerprint scanner
Despite the damage, everything worked perfectly. I did notice a problem with the camera it would take forever
for it to be ready to take a picture. I didn’t even try the selfie camera, I didn’t need it until today. The Uber application
kicked me offline after 3 or 4 declined trips and when I tried to go back online the Uber app couldn’t launch the selfie camera to
take a photo of myself. So after an hour on the phone with Uber support, I just said “fuck it” and drove to Ubreakifix. The good news is that the camera is part of the screen and they can completely fix it right now. The bad news is that it is going to cost me
$266.43 with sales tax to fix. If I did not have a credit card to pay for this to be fixed, I would be so screwed. There is nothing that Uber can
do for multiple days to resolve this problem. I would be better off getting another phone just to run the Uber app. I thought about doing that, and I just didn’t really want to have to deal with having 2 phones. So I am out in the parking lot of Ubreakifix now waiting on my
phone to be repaired. I am on my laptop connected to the hotspot I have in my car. I gave them my Gmail address and asked them to please email me at that address as soon as it is ready, they said that was “no problem.” first time I have heard those words all day.

I went in there after 1.5 hours and they told me that the screen for my phone was defective, the only screen that they had for my phone was white unless I wanted them to order a new one and I would have to wait 3-5 business days. I was like “fine use the white one but how much longer?” He said 10 more minutes, then after 30 minutes he came out and apologized he was going to have to return my phone not repaired. He told me something about $114.00 .

I found a work around I think. I was able to use an old IPad Pro that I use to fly my drones with to Authenticate with Uber. As soon as I did that, I am now able to go online via my iPhone. Which is cool, I spent no money and I am able now to earn with Uber now as long as I have that iPad with me.

Sunday January 1st 2023 (New Years Day 2023)

By Food for thought

Sunday nights after I have been driving all day on St. Pete Beach and or Down Town St. Petersburg, Florida
are the best! When I get home to Manatee County, I come in the house, pee if I have to, and take my vitamins, Sundays
are the days when I take vitamin D. for the entire week. Blog about my day driving, then get on the peloton. The rides I do
when I get home are a lot less “intense” than my morning ride. When I get home, I choose either a beginner, low impact
, or recovery ride and I come up out of the “Saddle”  (Peloton speak for the seat) 6 or more times. What I want to do in the afternoon ride
is keep the resistance 60 or below (as low as possible) What I always try to do is survive and thrive. To do that you
have to always be as cheap as possible. Sunday nights are the nights that I eat (I love to eat lol) a grass-fed ribeye steak and of course
some veggies usually Green Beans and Mushrooms too. I do all the grocery shopping since I am my mother’s caretaker and
because she is elderly. she receives snap benefits (food stamps) ain’t no shame in my game lol I am fat

The Uber driving app says I took 4 trips total today I made
a little over $105.00. Whatever! I accepted a request today that had a surge of $14.00.
I picked up two couples and took them from the Post Card Inn (A popular place on St. Pete Beach) about 1 mile down the beach
to (another popular place on St. Pete Beach) called the undertow beach bar. for a total of a little over $19.00.
I was like, “I’ll do that!” so I pulled it in, and sent them the no-drink message. When they got in the car, they had
Yetti-style cups, I asked the requestor if it was empty, the way she was carrying it, it seemed to me to be empty, (but those cups are heavy)
so I had to double-check. She said “yes it is empty” I was like “cool” the other cup that I saw had some type of paper product (probably a napkin from the bar)
coming out of the top of it so I knew it was empty. I remember when I first started driving for Uber, a young man on his 23rd
birthday (was crazy drunk) spilled a beer in my car. I was driving for Lyft back then that is how long ago it was. That beer stunk up my car for a week.
Lyft gave me $50.00 for that. which makes me think, I hope all the funds for damages also went up with hyperinflation like everything
else did! That $50.00 sux but the driver is the one that has to deal with the smell and the bad ratings until the smell goes away.
That is when I created the no-drink message posted on the miscellaneous tab. After that, I would send out the no-drink message as soon as I accepted
the request and if I see a drink in anyone’s hand from inside my car, I would not stop and have a conversation with them, I would first drive past them,
then cancel that request and ride on to the next request. There is no way to rate a canceled ride. So that is how I protect my car and my rating
I do not care at all about Uber pro (which is a choice-based program.) I need to be able to cancel or decline a trip for any reason I as the driver choose.
If the driver makes a mistake there is no discussion it’s on them, if a vehicle does damage to property it is on the driver. There is no discussion
the driver is the captain of their ship and for that reason, they need the ability to decline a trip or cancel a trip whenever they want.

I will post some videos of canceled drink requests from my dashcam when I have time.

Update: Look on the videos page for canceled drink request from my dash cam.

The Uber app says I completed 3 trips today. I made a little over $110.00.

The reason(s) I do not drive for Uber on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day anymore.

My first New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day 2018 – 2019 driving for Uber was awesome! I always drove at night at that time anyway. I was waiting all night to see the difference and there were definitely more “Geronimo” rides (long trip +45 minutes) but other than that, I didn’t notice much of a difference. At like 12:05 AM ET on 01/01/2019 I was at Isla Del Sol by St. Pete Beach and it was undeniable/it popped off! I couldn’t believe my eyes, surges were everywhere, and they were crazy high too, like 20-40 bux! (That is what the rider pays before the ride even starts) In those days there was no upfront pricing or trip radar, you didn’t find out where the rider was going until the Uber driver started the trip. So I went and picked up a rider and they were going like 30 minutes North to Clearwater. I drove them and dropped them off and the surges were now 30-60 so I drove and drove until about 4 AM ET. I did pretty well that night (for an Uber driver anyway) So the next year (2019 – 2020)

I was salivating over New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. I drove again and the surges were way less like $15.00 was the highest surge. So I drove and drove until like 4 AM ET. I did okay but not at all like the previous New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day that I remembered so well. Then I drove again the next year 2020-2021 and the highest surge was like $5.00 and the riders were saying when they tried to request a ride using the Uber rider app, they and everyone wherever they were were all getting the same message “there are no drivers available” (This was in Downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, which is very busy 24/7 and I also checked St. Pete beach and the surges were even less there.)

I picked up several riders that night and they were all saying the same thing to me. They were thinking that it was somehow my fault. So I got back to Manatee County that night at like 4 AM ET. I cut driving short that night and will never drive another New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day for Uber. Spring Break is way better and it is a week long. Remember this: Everything you see in the Uber driver app or the Uber rider app is controlled by Uber. What they pay out to the drivers is an expense, their profit (Uber is out to make a profit) is basically everything after they pay their drivers and employees and expenses. So if they have to pay out less to their drivers, that increases their profits. Uber is out to make more money for their shareholders, not their drivers!

The Uber driving app says I completed 7 trips today. With tips, I made a little over $165.00. It is now about 7:40 PM ET. I just got home in Manatee County. I just took my daily vitamins and I am writing this blog post from my IPhone 7 Plus. Which is pretty cool. I do this every night that I drive. When I am finished with this post, I will ride the Peloton for 20 minutes, take my daily tablespoon of EVOO, and then I will really be done working lol.

The Uber driving app says I took 3 total trips today. I made just short of $65.00 in the app. 2 of my trips were to and from Tampa International Airport to and from St. Pete Beach. My last trip was from the Don Cesar Luxury Hotel to Downtown St. Petersburg, FL.

The Uber app says I took 3 trips today. I made a little over $75.00, which I know sounds little right? It is, then we are also supposed to pay mechanics, also the .55 that they’re charging riders. Was a “temporary fuel charge” You see when the money flows towards the drivers and away from Uber, it’s just temporary but money flowing towards Uber is permanent. Anyway, I just thought That I forgot to blog so I grabbed my old IPhone 7 Plus and I am blogging from bed lmao! This is a relatively new thing. This was not possible when I was a kid lol. I think that Mobile device’s are pretty cool but I never, ever put mine up to my ear/head! These things transmit and receive pretty much in microwaves and what does humanity do with microwaves?

Today I took a Gironomo (Long Trip 45 in the Uber App) from a prominent hotel on Treasure Island
to Orlando Airport (MCO). The last time I went there was a couple weeks ago from Tampa Airport (TPA)
Waze did the exact same thing to me at the very last turn. It directed me to the complete wrong place.
I knew though not to turn down Hienzmannn or whatever you call it because the last time it did that it
fubarred the entire trip kind of. Because I made that mistake already, I knew not to do it again.
That dude did what a lot of riders do, he said he was going to tip me right away but he didn’t.
his plane was originally leaving MCO at 3:45PM I got him there at 3:09PM. While we were headed to MCO he got a message
that the 3:45PM trip was delayed until 7PM. He was at the airport for several hours with time. He did what he did.
I have made that trip many times. I just drop the passenger off and drive back empty.
Since I don’t drive at night anymore and I start driving at noon now. Because of Dumb (Don’t get me started on this subject!)
I just came directly home which is in Manatee county Florida. Today was pretty cold for Florida.
Last Christmas it was 75 Degrees we use Farenhight (The imperial system) in America. Today it was 41.2
this morning when I left for Pinellas County. That is very cold for Florida. Tomorrow 12/25/2022 it’s supposed to get
down in the ’30s. I tell people that I have been in Florida my entire life when it gets a single degree below 60
I start to freeze. I told someone from Colorado once and they were like “oh that’s adorable” that is funny! I am a
wimp when it gets cold lol.

Update: This person did tip me on 12/26/2022. I was tipped heavy too $19.32 (I consider anything over $10.00 to be a heavy tip) for this ride.

I am at lingr restaurant for the first time ever! The food here is awesome. I can definitely see myself coming back here. There were no available tables so I am sitting at the bar. The staff are all really nice here too. This place is really modern kinda like an Apple store but with alcohol. The food is awesome too. I just had some spicy chili garlic dumplings, they were so good, I even drank the juice lol. I am such a pig! I also ordered the lions main shrooms.
Umm, it was very good.

This is definitely the type of place I would bring a date or in my case, anyone I would want to impress! You have to pay big prices for anything that’s really good.
I don’t like that, but it is just the way it is.

The thing about lingr that almost put me off is that there are no prices on their website, so here they are.

I had the wok-fried Florida fresh catch at Markt Price. Among many other things lol. I pretty much just ate everything, like always lmao. There was this soup like stuff at first and I was lucky my waitress told me how to consume it, because I truly had no idea that you just sip it right out of the little bowl thingy it was in.
