I completed 6 trips today, I made a little over
$105.00. It is Sunday. Even though yesterday was pretty bad, my driver rating went up 1 point to a 4.97, whatever! I am a 5.0 driver.
that rating system is completely subjective, it doesn’t matter if the driver did or did not do anything the driver rating is based completely on how the passenger feels.
I just got home at 8:33 PM ET. I don’t have to drive for at least 1 day.
Today I completed 2 trips and made only a little over $60.00, which is horrible even for Uber driving.
I started on St. Pete Beach and took a call going to the airport like always. Then I accepted a request
to go from the airport to Pasco county. I completed that trip and I went offline like I always do
and headed back to St. Pete Beach and it was dead. small calls were coming through but nothing worthwhile.
I use TikTok to pass the time and it works great because I can view TikTok while staying online and each request
that comes through, I can still see. so 1 hour turned into 2 and then I drove to downtown St Petersburg (Like a 10-minute drive)
and I was there for over 20 minutes and not a single request came through, which is strange for a Saturday. So in addition to
the very low income that I already receive from Uber driving today was a horrible Saturday. It has been pretty obvious
that driving for Uber can’t be relied on for income purposes even though I have no pets, no kids, no girlfriend or wife (on purpose)
I do not drink alcohol, I do not smoke cigarettes, and I do not go out usually, I drive for Uber in Pinellas County and Come home to Manatee
County, ride the Peloton and that is pretty much it. Uber driving used to pay for itself but it is looking like it’s not even doing that now.
Today I completed 4 trips, I earned a little over$85.00. I got off the Peloton and remembered I hadn’t blogged yet. I got in the shower real quick (afternoon showers I just rinse off and use no soap.) I forgot again, I just remembered again so I grabbed my phone and I am blogging from it. I think that is awesome! Not awesome enough to put this on my ear next to my brain, everyone does that like it’s okay. It is absolutely not. I used to, but I stopped sometime in 2015.
The Uber app says I helped 3 people in total today. I made a little more than $70.00. This girl (she was hot!) told me she had a Prius, I don’t usually tell rider’s this but when rider’s tell me they have a Prius also, I tell them how many miles are on this car. If I tell rider’s that “willy nilly” like I used to do, I get a lot of questions because they then think they’re going to die lol. Then I tell them about the twice monthly oil changes and the tire changes twice a year Blah blah blah they kind of relax. This girl was very cool but the man that was with her started asking a lot of questions about tires and oil. I got a mixed response from them but they tipped me almost $9.00 so that was good. Like ICE CUBE says it was a good day. I am home it is 7:27 PM ET and I am alive! Just took my vitamins and now it is time for my night ride!
The Uber app says I completed 6 trips today, I earned a little over $130.00. Tonight is Sunday night it’s the last night of my workweek for Uber so that is awesome! Sunday nights are really the only nights where I try not to do anything but I make deal’s with my self a lot lol. This is how I usually justify things lol. I tell myself that LEARNING is not working so I can do that lmao. I just took my vitamins and now I am off to ride the Peloton.
The Uber driving app says that I took 4 trips in total today. I earned a little over $95.00. I remember in 2020 when I had the motor swap done. I picked the car up and the check engine light was on. So I scanned it, then cleared the codes and it went away. I got to Pinellas County and that light came on again. So I called this dude that worked on my car several times before he had experience working with these cars (hybrids) he told me to check the oil. It looked to be less than 50 percent. So I added 2 quarts of oil, I drove it to Clearwater and it looked even lower now, like less than 40 percent. I looked several times under the car and couldn’t find any leaks and I tried and could smell nothing burning. I was like nothing is making any sense here. I contacted Automedic and I spoke with the owner Omar. I told him there are lights on the dashboard and it’s blowing some code, I forget what the actual code it was blowing at that time. I was like “I gotta bring this back.” Omar says to me “I will give you a deal, I will charge you just $55.00 an hour because that motor is right!” I am like “I just got this out of your shop and there is something wrong with it and I do not know what it is.” That night I put that code into YouTube a lot. I learned that the cause of my problem was a sensor inside a part that was easily replaceable. So I checked the oil the next day when it was cold and it was way over full. So my mother donated a clear plastic container and I looked on the bottom of it and read that full it held like 3 gallons or so. So I did some math and put a mark on that container where 4 quarts was about. I jacked up the car and drained out 4 quarts of oil. I then went to Valvoline quick oil change and had them drain the oil from Ruby and add in EXACTLY 4.4 quarts. After that, I went to Advanced Auto Parts and purchased whatever that part was called it’s on the Maintenance log, and replaced in the parking lot with some ratchet wrenches I brought with me. I cleared those codes and the problem went away forever. I just remember that the Original one was right on top of the motor and I replaced it with ease, but that Mother Fucker was hot! Anyway I got to thinking about that. So this morning I checked the oil in Ruby before I started her today. The oil looked about 60 percent full, so I added 1 quart and checked it again, it was overfull. So in two weeks, I will only add 1/2 a quart and that should do it. The moral of this story is don’t freak out, get as much information as possible and if there is still actually something to freak out about, by that time, you will realize that freaking out, is never really helpful at all.
